My Husband’s Birthday at Giligan’s Restaurant

Jul 27, 2019 | Food, Restaurants

My husband just turned 33 last July 19. It was a Friday then that’s why we weren’t able to celebrate his birthday on that exact day. The good thing was I filed a leave a month before so we can celebrate his birthday on a Sunday. We were also blessed because his company used to give birthday cash to their employees. My husband received  ₱1,000 from his boss.

Last Sunday, July 21, we decided to treat our families to a restaurant in Ayala Malls, Marikina Heights. We were supposed to celebrate together with his parents but they weren’t able to come so we just invited a neighbor friend to eat with us. We decided to dine in Giligan’s Restaurant. There were a variety of choices on the menu but in order to save money, we chose a set meal good for six people.

We chose Set 4. It includes the following:

  • 2 Platters of Rice
  • 6 Glasses of Iced Tea
  • Sinigang na Baboy
  • Korean Beef
  • 1/2 Giligan’s Chicken
  • Sweet and Spicy Squid
  • 6 Sticks Pork Barbecue

We were hungry at that time and found the 2 platters of rice not enough. Therefore, I decided to order another platter for ₱108. I found the waiter thoughtful for offering their promo. He said that instead of ordering another platter, I can just avail their unlimited rice promo by paying ₱92 (that’s for ALL of us). Compared to Mama Au’s, their servings are fewer but it’s cheaper. Overall, I paid ₱1, 554.

When it comes to the place, the ambiance is good. It’s very blue (literally color blue). The staffs are nice and accommodating. But unlike in other restaurants wherein, only one designated waiter is assigned per table, at Giligan’s whoever waiter can assist you.

We had a great time there. Most probably, we’ll come back. We think that the place is actually good for chilling and for hanging out with friends since they offer liquor. 🙂

That’s all for this blog. Hope this post gave you an idea. <3
